If you see some classic, antique or muscle cars around the Acadiana area this weekend, more than likely, those vehicles are part of the Cruisin’ Cajun Country Car Show coming to Downtown New Iberia, and to other spots around our little part of the state.
Cruisin’ Cajun Country is a non-profit organization that promotes the preservation of Classic, Muscle, Antique and modern Sports Vehicles. They raise funds for area non-profit organizations and events through their Car Shows.
Just last year, they donated $18,000 to organizations like Lydia Cancer Society, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Alzheimer’s Association, Magnolia Elementary and more.
This year’s event will introduce New Iberia and parts of South Louisiana to members from across the country. Not only will they display their cars in the heart of Downtown New Iberia on Friday afternoon, but registered participants will also be treated to boudin in the Boudin Capital of the World, Scott, Louisiana; a poker run through the streets of New Iberia Historic District; a stop at WildCat Brothers Rum Distillery at Gator Cove; a Louisiana Fais Do-do, and more.
