Acadian Ambulance honors Hub City Paramedic and EMT of the Year 

June 1, 2022 – Each year, Acadian Ambulance recognizes its exceptional paramedics and EMTs for their tireless work ethic and dedication. From across the company’s four-state service area, 32 paramedic and EMT finalists were nominated by their peers for displaying exemplary attitudes and providing excellent patient care. The top winners are selected by a company-wide committee. 

Acadian Ambulance is honoring the medics at a celebration held in Lafayette on Thursday, June 2.

Paramedic Paul Martin and EMT Julie Williams represent the company’s Hub City service area and were finalists for the top honors. The service area encompasses Lafayette, Vermilion, St. Martin and St. Landry Parishes.

Paul Martin

Martin has been with Acadian for six years and is a Critical Care Transport Paramedic out of Lafayette. He has assisted with many projects at Acadian. He is a field training officer, member of the Critical Incident Stress Management team and Hub City Outreach team, and a BLS instructor. He is a strong patient advocate, as well as an advocate for his coworkers. He has a positive attitude, is compassionate and has a strong work ethic. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. 

“Paul is a stellar employee who owns his role and is continuously evolving,” said Operations Manager Adam Olivier. 

EMT Julie Williams

Williams has been with Acadian for more than 14 years. She has served as an EMT, field training officer and member of the Critical Incident Stress Management team. She has recently taken on a role with Acadian’s Coding and Documentation Center. During her time as an EMT, she trained countless new employees. She has an incredible work ethic and always has a positive attitude. She makes it a point for her patients to see her smile, and receive the best possible treatment every time. 

“Julie is an invaluable member of the Acadian team,” said Olivier.

Acadian Ambulance is one of the largest ambulance services in the nation, offering emergency and non-emergency transportation to areas in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee. They are employee-owned and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
